By 2018, under the Communist Party's institutional reform programme, 610 had been incorporated into the Central Political and Legal Commission and the Ministry of Public Security in institutional restructuring, and since then ,610" has ceased to exist independently as a symbolic institution for the persecution of Falun Gong. Although 610 has super power and persecution continues, 610 is being laid off and is seen as an unsustainable symbol of the Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong.
