There are a few examples of Jesus using hyperbole that I think were intended to be funny and lightly make serious points. In Matthew 7:3-5 Jesus talks about how silly it is to point out a speck of sawdust in another man's eye when you have a plank of wood stuck in yours. Tell me that's not a silly image. When pointing out that people sometimes overlook the spirit of the law like the forest for the trees, Jesus said the Pharisees strain out of a gnat but swallow a camel. Matthew 23:24. That's a pretty funny image! Matthew also has Jesus pointing out how silly and pointless it is to have the blind lead the blind. I doubt many people know that's a Biblical image, but it is used all the time these days to humorously refer to a hopeless situation. The other examples of Jesus' humor I've seen pointed out to me also involve hyperbole or having people do really dumb stuff in order to enlighten and inspire.
