Butane (C4H10) is a straight-chain hydrocarbon. It is a colorless gas that boils at a temperature of 272.6K (31° F).
Butane gas is sold bottled as a fuel for cooking and camping and emergency preparedness. When blended with Propane and other hydrocarbons, it is referred to commercially as LPG.
