The A-League is the top tier of Soccer played in Australia. The most recent champions are the Brisbane Roar, and past winners include Sydney FC, Melbourne Victory and Newcastle Jets. In the current season, notable players include Japanese play maker Shinji Ono, and forwards Emile Heskey and Alessandro Del Piero, who have played for Liverpool and Juventus respectively.
