The Peasant's Crusade was a part of the First Crusade which consisted mainly of common people. Occurring in 1096 AD, it was called for by Pope Urban II at the behest of the Byzantine Emperor whose lands were being threatened by Muslims. It is contrasted by the Third Crusade, also called the "King's Crusade."
