Geo-Solar Engineering to Save the Planet
By Nancy Thorner

Reported by Frank Bergman on February 18, 2023: George Soros, worth 10 billion as of 2023, is pushing a plan to block the sun to fight climate change as a way to cool Earth's global temperature.

Soros outlined his plan during his address at the Munich Security Conference on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2023.

Boasting that he had discovered a process where white clouds are created to reflect sunlight away from the planet’s surface, the Soros technology is said to prevent ice sheets from melting in Greenland. For as Soros claims, the melting of the Greenland ice sheet “would increase the level of the oceans by seven meters to spell the doom of human civilization.”

Accordingly, Soros has endorsed geosolar engineering as a way to tackle the climate crisis.

This idea, however, has also been proposed by other scientists such as the UK’s former chief scientific adviser David King.

“King’s proposal would create white clouds to duplicate the reflectivity of Arctic ice — known as the albedo effect, often seen as a last resort to combating global warming because it involves physically altering the Earth’s atmosphere to reflect more sunlight back into space or increase the amount of solar radiation that can escape.”

At the Munich Security Conference Soros also expressed a "reorienting of our international financial institutions”, namely the World Bank, so enough resources are available to spend on climate change.

How sound is the solar-geoengineering plan to block sunlight from reaching the earth?

On January 17, 2022 an international coalition of prominent scientists and governance scholars sent an open letter calling for an international treaty to outlaw sola geoengineering, which was published simultaneously in the journal WIREs Climate Change.

The paper concluded: “Solar geoengineering is not necessary. Neither is it desirable, ethical, or politically governable in the current context. With the normalization of solar geoengineering research moving on with rapid speed, a strong political message to block these technologies is needed. And this message must come soon.”

“Impacts will vary across regions, and there are uncertainties about the effects on weather patterns, agriculture, and the provision of basic needs of food and water.”

Support by Bill Gates

Jason Murdock reported on March of 2021 about Bill Gates’ support of a Harvard project, called the Stratospheric Controlled Perturbation Experiment, to dim sunlight as a way to fight the devastating results of climate change. The plan would be for a high-altitude balloon to disperse calcium carbonate, essentially a chalk dust, to dim natural sunlight to stop Arctic ice melting.

Heartland Institute refutes melting of Greenland Ice

Sterling Burnett of The Heartland Institute, in an article published September 8, 2022, refutes the melting of the Greenland Ice that would possibly swamp coastal areas.

As Mr. Burnett wrote: "Hard data backing up the claim of alarming amounts of Greenland ice melt driving increasing rates of sea level rise is absent, probably because such data does not exist."

According to Burnett's colleague meteorologist Anthony Watt, a Senior Fellow at The Heartland Institute, “the reports are based on computer model projection models that have been consistently wrong in the pass to make their projections untrustworthy.”

Burnett end his article with this thought: “There are plenty of problems to solve and things to worry about in the world today without adding phantom fears of rising seas swamping the coasts because of ice loss in Greenland, based on flawed computer model projections.”

Burnett's article calls into question the February 18, 2023 article by Frank Bergman relating how George Soros is pushing a plan that calls for blocking the sun to fight climate change to check the melting of ice sheets in Greenland. Not that Bergman's reporting is not legit about Soros and his plan, but such a plan is not a new one, and Soros did not come up with the plan to be able to brag about it at the 2023 Munich Security Conference.

A June 15th, 2016 article cites researchers at a Harvard lab studying the controversial solar geoengineering proposal to spray aerosols into the upper atmosphere to block some of the sun’s rays to lower global temperatures.

Heartland’s 15th International Conference of Climate Change

The Heartland Institute, based in Arlington Heights, IL, hosted its 15th International Conference on Climate Change, Feb. 23 - 25 in Orlando Florida.

Nancy Thorner attended the three day event. There were speakers from Europe and attendees from many states in the U.S.

Without question, and said over and over again, the true crisis is Climate Policy, not Climate Change!
