Artificial Hurricanes: Are we giving humanity too much credit?

I had a talk with my mother this morning about the theory that humanity has developed the ability to manipulate the weather and create what are essentially artificial hurricanes. She absolutely refuses to believe it, and for a very interesting reason. As a devout Christian, she questions the faith of those who promote the theory. Specifically, she sees theory as something that takes God out of science, not unlike the theory of evolution. l'me 'splain. Russia has Naval Infantry, which is akin to US Marines. The Pacific Naval Infantry are already deployed to Ukraine. So in the event of war with NATO, Russia's Far East is exposed to invasion from the US, Canada, and Japan. Hence North Koreans are picking up the slack on Russia's Far Eastern coast under a mutual defense agreement.
The Russian military is not anything like the US military. It's really more like NATO, made of troops from Russia's 89 federal subjects under mutual defense obligations. The primary military units tasked with defending the Donbas are the Donetsk & Lugansk Republics, which receive assistance from Moscow, Chechnya, Bashkortostan, Tuva, Vladivostok, etc., as well as private military companies like the Wagner group (modeled after Blackwater).

Perhaps my use of the term "overturned" is too broad. Did 40 years of sanctions prevent North Korea from obtaining nuclear weapons knowhow and build a bomb (or obtaining ICBM technology from Ukraine to deliver it to the United States)? No.

Does anyone seriously believe a third world hellhole like sanctioned North Korea can build a nuclear bomb, but sanctions will prevent a rich, highly educated population like Iran from doing the same (or even buying one from North Korea)?

The time devoted to civic education in American public schools began to significantly decline in the 1960s.[29] And before that, ethics/religion and discipline was removed from many public schools and liberal/leftist indoctrination poured into many public schools and not enough school choice being offered (Vouchers, etc.).
As result, we have gotten a TON of lawfare and civil rights abuses against Trump via the Justice Department, FBI, CIA and Democrats plus SCOTUS judges threatened by angry mobs. In addition, the world rankings of the American school system at the primary and high school level has gone down.
Now while Trump has merely a fraction of authoritarian tendencies/leaning than Biden/Harris and other left-leaning Democrats, he has his problems too as can be seen at: Trump denies he suggested ‘termination’ of Constitution, without deleting post, Politico, 2022 and Cruz: “Of course” Trump was wrong to call for terminating Constitution, Texas Tribune, 2022 and Donald Trump: 'When somebody is president of the United States, the authority is total', video (During the pandemic) and Trump asked Twitter to take down ‘derogatory’ tweet from Chrissy Teigen: whistleblower, The Hill, 2023.
A big difference between Trump and Democrats is that Trump is man of the people (And is a nicer person as well) and he craves praise, recognition and respect as well. And he knows if he were to be as bad as the Biden/Harris/Democrats as far as authoritarianism, he would be hated by the majority of Americans. In addition, the GOP is a lot less authoritarian than Democrats and that restricts Trump's power too.
But our Founding Fathers foresaw this problem and that is why we have separation of powers, federalism (state rights) and the electoral college. So it very hard for authoritarians to gain as much power as they would wish. In addition, thanks to the US Constitution, the filibuster rule in the Senate and the fact that cultures tend to change slowly (Much of USA culture comes from Britain/West which had the Magna Carta, common law, Greek democracy/Aristotle, etc., so it is hard for hardcore authoritarianism such as fascism/communism to take root in the United States). At the same time, because Germany has a more authoritarian than the UK, Hitler quickly transformed a democratic republic into a constitutional dictatorship so Americans need to be vigilant.[30]
I hope Republicans/Trump does a better job of pushing school choice so civics/ethics/religion is taught more. Because that is a big root of the problem.
