Um...if they mean the Holy Rman Empire, that means that England, Scotland, France, much of Italy, and many other parts of Europe were not in Christendom. I can't imagine Miriam-Webster getting it wrong, but "Christendom", simply put, was a medieval term for Christian Europe. AlanE 23:48, 24 September 2008 (EDT)
