The Great Soviet Encyclopedia was an encyclopedia published in the USSR from 1926 to 1990.

The publication is perhaps best remembered for how it dealt with people who had run afoul of the Soviet administration, and the clever use of censorship to remove reference to those individuals from its record, including mailing people articles and asking them to remove pages from their copies of the book and replace them with the new ones they'd been sent.
