AFSCME is an acronym for the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO. AFSCME is a union of about 1.6 million members consisting of nurses, corrections officers, child care providers, EMTs and sanitation workers.[1] AFSCME is a coalition partner of the liberal coalition America Votes.[2] It favors liberal legislation.
