Aladdin (or Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp) is a fairy tale found in the Arabian Nights about a poor but good-hearted boy who finds a lamp containing a genie, and ends up marrying a princess. The story has been retold many times and appears in many different forms and settings. One of the most famous tellings is Disney's animated film of 1992, which is set in a composite Middle Eastern city. In the United Kingdom Aladdin is a popular subject for pantomimes, which usually set the story in China.
