Alexander Zakharchenko
Alexander Zakharchenko (born 1976) is the minister-president of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic, a Russia-backed separatist group which is not recognized by any other country, including Ukraine which labels it a terrorist organization.
Biography
Zakharchenko was born in Donetsk in 1976. After graduating from technical school he worked as a mine electrician. Later he was a student at the law institute of Ukraine's interior ministry.[1] Since April 2014 Zakharchenko was engaged in the Donetsk People's Republic. On August 7, 2014, he became minister-president of the Republic of Donetsk after Alexander Borodai resigned.[2] Zakharchenko was endorsed by the Communist Party of the Donetsk People's Republic.[3]

Zakharchenko is a member of the Russian Orthodox Church.[4]
In February 2015 Zakharchenko claimed that Kiev's pro-Western leaders were “miserable representatives of the great Jewish people".[5]
In December 2016 Zakharchenko said that Britain should be conquered: "I'm not saying 'Kyiv.' In fact, not even Berlin must be taken. We should leave it behind and conquer Britain. The Anglo-Saxons are the evil to our Russian fate. If we succeed, Russia's 'golden age' will come, according to all our predictions".[6]
