American Dad

American Dad is a liberal cartoon TV series by the atheist Seth MacFarlane which debuted in 2005. Originally airing on FOX before moving to TBS in 2014, there are 366 episodes in 20 seasons to date.

Plot

Stan Smith is a patriotic conservative republican agent of the CIA and father of two kids. His wife Francine and his son Steve support his politics. But his daughter Hayley is a liberal atheist hippie. In addition Klaus, a goldfish with the exchanged brain of a German man, and Roger, a homosexual alien with a voice and mannerisms patterned after late comedian Paul Lynde, live with the family.

Liberal Themes

In the episode "Lincoln Lover" Stan unwittingly becomes involved with Log Cabin Republicans and over time comes to support the inclusion of homosexuals in the Republican Party. The episode "Surro-Gate" even supports the claimed "right" for homosexuals to adopt children. The episode "American Dream Factory" supports immigration of illegal aliens.

In the episode "Honey, I'm Homeland", Stan tries to infiltrate a leftist cell he believes it is planning a terrorist attack, but he gets captured by the same cell, although with a cringe twist in the finale of the episode. In the episode, Lincoln is called a "fascist" alongside George Washington and Teddy Roosevelt, and there's a disgustingly and shamelessly revisionist part in which Thomas Jefferson is briefly described as the one who freed the slaves instead of Abraham Lincoln. This is also strange, considering that Thomas Jefferson is notoriously hated and despised by the Left, too.

Also, similarly to Family Guy, there are several episodes with misandrist and ageist messages (including ageism against relationships between legal and consenting adults with significant age-differences like the episode "Bullocks to Stan") and female pedophilia that is normally and socially accepted and even encouraged (most of these episodes involve the 13-14 y.o. Smith's child Steve and his friends).
