An American Eagle is an American bullion coin. There are gold and silver American Eagles.
Gold Coin
The gold coin contains 91.67% gold content. They come in denominations of 1 troy ounce, 1/2 troy ounce, 1/4 troy ounce, and 1/10 troy ounce. It features Lady Liberty on the obverse side, and a bald eagle bringing a branch to a nest on the reverse.
Silver Coin
The silver coin contains one troy ounce of 99.9% silver content. It features Lady Liberty on the obverse side and a bald eagle on the reverse.
