Amoz (Hebrew: אמוץ amotz "strong") was the father of Isaiah.

His name is mentioned in the Bible in the books of 2 Kings, 2 Chronicles, and Isaiah 13 times in all, but always to describe Isaiah reading as "the son of Amoz". No personal information is given on Amoz himself.

Rabbinical literature passed down through oral histories asserts: "We have received the tradition from our fathers that Amoz, the father of the prophet Isaiah, and Amaziah, the king of Judah, were brothers."
