Andrew Aitken Rooney, known as Andy Rooney (January 14, 1919 – November 4, 2011), was a well-known liberal media personality and author regularly seen on CBS' 60 Minutes. A native of the capital city of Albany, New York, he joined the network in 1950. He was known for his curmudgeonly demeanor and humorous observations.
