Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act

The Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act (ACPA)[1] prohibits anyone from registering or using "bad faith" intent in order to profit from an internet domain name that "is identical or confusingly similar to"[2] a distinctive trademark or internet domain name owned by someone else.[3]

This Act became law in 1999.
