Aquitaine is a region in south western France. Its principal city is Bordeaux and was an independent Kingdom in the Dark Ages. In the Medieval era it was associated as being a French territory, despite being owned by the Kings of England for hundreds of years. However Aquitaine, like other English possessions in France swore allegiance to the French crown.
