Sweden is one of the most atheistic countries in the world.[1]

The International Business Times reported in 2014: "Sweden has the highest rate of rape in Europe, with the UN reporting 69 rape cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 2011."[2] See also: Atheism and rape

Sweden is one of the most atheistic countries in the world and the website adherents.com reported that in 2005 46 - 85% of Swedes were agnostics/atheists/non-believers in God.[3] Sweden also has the 3rd highest rate of belief in evolution as far as Western World nations.[4]

Sweden and rape

The International Business Times reported in 2014:

Sweden has the highest rate of rape in Europe, with the UN reporting 69 rape cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 2011, according to author and advocate of power feminism Naomi Wolf on opinion website Project Syndicate.

In 2010, Swedish police recorded the highest number of offences - about 63 per 100,000 inhabitants - of any force in Europe. That was the second highest in the world after Lesotho.

"According to rape crisis advocates in Sweden, one-third of Swedish women have been sexually assaulted by the time they leave their teens. According to a study published in 2003, and other later studies through 2009, Sweden has the highest sexual assault rate in Europe, and among the lowest conviction rates," Wolf wrote.

A 2010 Amnesty report said: "In Sweden, according to official crime statistics, the number of reported rapes has quadrupled during the past 20 years. In 2008, there were just over 4,000 rapes of people over 15, the great majority of them girls and women."[5]

Research suggests that irreligiousity is a causal factor for domestic violence.[6] See: Irreligion and domestic violence

In March of 2014, the Swedish news website The Local published an article entitled Sweden stands out in domestic violence study which declared:

A new EU review of violence against women has revealed that one in three European women has been assaulted, and one in twenty has been raped, with the Scandinavian countries at the top of the league tables.

In the Scandinavian countries, in contrast, around half of the women reported physical or sexual violence, which researchers at the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights said could have several explanations...

In Sweden, 81 percent of women said they had been harassed at some point after the age of 15 - compared to the EU average of 55 percent. After Sweden, which had the highest rate, Denmark, France, the Netherland and Finland all saw rates above 70 percent. The EU member state with the lowest rate - 24 percent - was Bulgaria.[7]

Rape is a form of sexual assault. In the United States, whose religious population skews towards Christianity, the irreligious are more like to engage in cohabitation rather than marriage, and engage in more domestic violence (See: Irreligion and domestic violence and Atheism and marriage). In the United States, secular couples that engage in cohabitation are more likely to engage illegal drug use/drunkeness and engage in domestic violence than their religious and married counterparts (see: Irreligion and domestic violence).

Secular leftism, multiculturism, Muslim immigration that is resistant to assimilation and rape

Despite a large influx of Muslim immigrants with a higher fertility rate than their secular counterparts, Sweden has a below replacement level of fertility of rate 1.90 births per woman.[8]

On December 23, 2012, Professor Eric Kaufmann who teaches at Birbeck College, University of London wrote:

I argue that 97% of the world's population growth is taking place in the developing world, where 95% of people are religious.

On the other hand, the secular West and East Asia has very low fertility and a rapidly aging population... In the coming decades, the developed world's demand for workers to pay its pensions and work in its service sector will soar alongside the booming supply of young people in the third world. Ergo, we can expect significant immigration to the secular West which will import religious revival on the back of ethnic change. In addition, those with religious beliefs tend to have higher birth rates than the secular population, with fundamentalists having far larger families. The epicentre of these trends will be in immigration gateway cities like New York (a third white), Amsterdam (half Dutch), Los Angeles (28% white), and London, 45% white British. [9]

Michael Blume, a researcher at the University of Jena in Germany, wrote about the low fertility of more secularly minded individuals: "Most societies or communities that have espoused atheistic beliefs have not survived more than a century."[10] Blume also indicated concerning concerning his research on this matter: "What I found was the complete lack of a single case of a secular population, community or movement that would just manage to retain replacement level."[11]

Despite a large influx of Muslim immigrants with a higher fertility rate than their secular counterparts, Sweden has a below replacement level of fertility of rate 1.90 births per woman.[12]

Eric Kaufmann in an academic paper entitled Shall the Righteous Inherit the Earth? Demography and Politics in the Twenty-First Century wrote:

Ethnicity and race may succumb to liberal modernity, but committed religious populations cannot be assimilated to liberal secularism fast enough to compensate for their demographic advantage in a world of plunging fertility and growing migration. In the end, it is a battle between religious fertility on the one hand, and, on the other, religious decline through the 'assimilation' of religious offspring into secularism. This paper argues that the weakness of secularism and a widening secular-religious fertility gap points toward a religious victory...

The principle of tolerating and 'celebrating' diversity is a corollary of postmodern relativism which opens up space for antimodern religious 'diversities' to take root. If they are demographically-powerful religious movements like Islamism or evangelical Christianity, they will exploit this weakness to progressively erode the hegemony of western secular humanism....

In the Europe of tomorrow, immigration and religious fertility will increase the proportion of committed Muslims and Christians, many from the developing world. It may seem fanciful to imagine a moral conservatism uniting white and nonwhite Christians as well as Muslims against 'secular humanists'. However, a version of this process has occurred in the United States, and it can be argued that the cocktail of cultural relativism, secular exhaustion and demographic change is even more potent in Europe than America. The division between native ethnic groups and immigrant groups is currently more important in Europe, but as the Muslim and religious Christian minorities grow, they will become as important for conservative politicians as the religious Hispanics of America whom the Republicans have so assiduously courted. At some point, it will make more electoral sense for European conservatives to appeal to a trans-ethnic coalition of moral conservatives than it will to stress anti-immigrant themes and ethno-nationalism. The liberal-left will find it extremely difficult to craft a defense of secularism given its investment in cultural relativism, the exhaustion of its secular religions, and its laissez-faire attitude to demographic change.

Standing back from the fray, we can think of demography as the achilles heel of liberalism.[13]

Secular leftism, libertinism and laws that are lax on sexual deviance

Sweden, known the world over for its avant garde sexual mores has crossed yet another barrier in its moral descent with the news that sexual abuse of animals is on the increase. A government commissioned study has found that more than 200 animals, mostly horses, have been sexually abused in Sweden since the 1970s.[14]

Sweden's politics lean towards secular, libertine leftism who are more likely to engage in risky behavior and are less likely to have tough crimes on sexually deviant behavior(see: Atheism and hedonism).[15] See also: Atheism and morality and Moral failures of the atheist population

In 2005, LifeSiteNews reported in an article entitled Bestiality on the Rise in Sexually Libertine Sweden:

Sweden, known the world over for its avant garde sexual mores has crossed yet another barrier in its moral descent with the news that sexual abuse of animals is on the increase. A government commissioned study has found that more than 200 animals, mostly horses, have been sexually abused in Sweden since the 1970s.

The Swedish Animal Welfare Agency collected its information based on responses received from 1,600 questionnaires sent to veterinarians, animal welfare inspectors and police agencies across the country. In the period 2000 to 2004, 119 cases of bestiality were documented, compared to just three known cases in the 1970s, 17 in the 1980s and 70 in the 1990s.

The author of the report indicated that the numbers may not correctly reflect the real problem. Katarina Andersson, said that the rise in documented cases did not necessarily mean that there was a de facto increase.

“We know that there must be cases that have not been documented,” she said, adding that people have also become more aware of the problem in recent years and are therefore more likely to report suspected cases to the authorities.[16]

On April 26, 2001, in an article entitled Swedes have more and more animal sex the Swedish news website Nettavision reported:

Animal sex is not illegal in Sweden, and every year between 200 and 300 pets are injured because of sexual assaults.

The estimate was presented by Svenska Veterinärforbundet, the Swedish veterinary organization, and it is now trying to make the authorities and the public more aware of animals’ suffering. The organization claim the problem has increased during the last couple of years, even if most people are unaware of it.

“We have seen an increase since 1999 when child pornography became illegal,” said Johan Beck-Friis. “It appears, in other words, as there are some people who have replaced children with animals. In both circumstances, it is sex with defenceless individuals.”[17]

Swedish laws concerning homosexuality reflect that it is among the most pro-homosexuality countries in the world.[18]

After much negative publicity, which included a bestiality ring operating in their country, Sweden finally outlawed bestiality in 2014 (see: Bestiality and Sweden). For more information, please see: Atheism and bestiality

On May 5, 2011 the Swedish news website The Local reported in an article entitled Swedish women hit harder by STD rise:

Gonorrhoea and syphilis are making a comeback in Sweden, with the number of reported cases among young women soaring by nearly 60 percent in 2010.

According to new statistics from the Swedish Institute for Communicable Disease Control (Smittskyddsinstitutet), there was a 38 percent rise in reported cases of the two diseases among Swedes in general.

Worst hit, however, are young women between 15 and 24, where the number of cases increased by 57 percent.[19]

Secular leftists, New Atheism and accusations of Islamophobia

Most atheists lean to the left in their politics and as note above the secular left embraces multiculturism and identity politics (see: Atheism and politics and secular left). The secular left often discourages criticisms of Islam - even when it originates with their fellow secular leftists. For example, the New Atheists Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris and the late Christopher Hitchens have received multiple accusations of engaging in Islamophobic behavior.[20]

Muslism rapists, lax secular/liberal government and a large increase in rapes in Sweden

Atheism and Islam have both had very violent pasts (see: Atheism vs. Islam and Atheism and mass murder).

Dr. R. J. Rummel's mid estimate regarding the loss of life due to atheistic communism is that communism caused the death of approximately 110,286,000 people between 1917 and 1987.[21]

In addition, in the United States, the irreligious population is more likely to engage in domestic violence (see: Irreligion and domestic violence and Atheism and women).

In 2015, the Gatestone Institute reported:

Forty years after the Swedish parliament unanimously decided to change the formerly homogenous Sweden into a multicultural country, violent crime has increased by 300% and rapes by 1,472%...

In an astounding number of cases, the Swedish courts have demonstrated sympathy for the rapists, and have acquitted suspects who have claimed that the girl wanted to have sex with six, seven or eight men...

In 1975, the Swedish parliament unanimously decided to change the former homogeneous Sweden into a multicultural country. Forty years later the dramatic consequences of this experiment emerge: violent crime has increased by 300%. If one looks at the number of rapes, however, the increase is even worse. In 1975, 421 rapes were reported to the police; in 2014, it was 6,620. That is an increase of 1,472%....

Over the past 10-15 years, immigrants have mainly come from Muslim countries such as Iraq, Syria and Somalia. Might this mass influx explain Sweden's rape explosion? It is difficult to give a precise answer, because Swedish law forbids registration based on people's ancestry or religion. One possible explanation is that, on average, people from the Middle East have a vastly different view of women and sex than Scandinavians have. And despite the attempts by the Swedish establishment to convince the population that everyone setting foot on Swedish soil becomes exactly like those who have lived here for dozens of generations, facts point in an altogether different direction.

The latest statistical survey of immigrant criminality compared to that of Swedes was done in 2005. The results are practically never mentioned. Not only that; anyone who dares refer to them, for example on social media, is viciously attacked....

Whether or not they measured by the number of convicted rapists or men suspected of rape, men of foreign extraction were represented far more than Swedes.,,,2000s – 2.1 to 19.5 times as often as Swedes...

How is it, then, that in 2008, Sweden's neighbor Denmark only had 7.3 rapes per 100,000 inhabitants compared to 53.2 in Sweden?..

In Sweden, the authorities do what they can to conceal the origin of the rapists. In Denmark, the state's official statistical office, Statistics Denmark, revealed that in 2010 more than half of convicted rapists had an immigrant background.[22]

Secular leftists Swedes and the Muslim rape epidemic in their country

See also: Atheism and cowardice

James Lewis wrote in The American Thinker:

Sweden's coat of arms shows two fierce, roaring lions. But a few years ago, Swedish feminists successfully campaigned to castrate the rampant lions (on a local version of the royal coat of arms), because their penises were too obviously ready for business.

Swedish politicians obligingly removed the offending members. They have done much the same thing to themselves.

And thereby hangs a tale of feminized Sweden and the Muslim rape epidemic...

In tribal cultures, war-making males commonly commit rapes while raiding enemy clans. Even chimp gangs do it. Chicago gangs do it, too – unless they are restrained by their own, or fear deadly retaliation...

No human culture promotes rape against in-group women; it is usually committed against out-group women. In-group rape is taboo, because many tribes have strict rules of exogamy (having to marry and have children outside the clan to prevent inbreeding).

In Muslim tribal cultures, rape is sanctioned outside the family, the clan, and the faith, the umma.

However, rape and the worst kinds of violence are religiously authorized in jihad war against declared out-groups. Punishment for rape can be severe if the victim is a protected family member. But infidel women are free for all. That is what ISIS is telling the world, in Iraq and Syria...

Now, next door to Sweden, Norway recently expelled almost a thousand Muslim immigrants for serious crimes, and behold! The violent crime rate dropped by 30% in Norway. Amazing but true.[23]

Secular leftists Swedes have been too cowardly to confront the Muslim community in their country and put an end to the rape epidemic. See also: Atheism and cowardice

Islamic countries and lower violent crime statistics

In most cases, Muslim countries average 2.4 murders per annum per 100,000 people, compared to 7.5 in non-Muslim countries.[24]

Disgruntled/angry Muslims wishing to commit aggression/violence against native Swedes may partly explain the high rape statistics in Sweden.[25][26]

In addition, unlike Sweden, Muslim countries often have male and female segregation in their societies and very strict Islamic laws which may explain why Muslims engage in more sexual assaults in Sweden and engage in more sexual assaults than in their previous Islamic countries (and engage in more violence in general).

At the same time, sexual assaults against women may be less likely to be prosecuted in their previous Muslim countries (In some Muslim controlled areas, women are punished for being raped and accusing rapists[27]).

Conservative Christianity: France vs. Sweden

French scholars say, evangelicalism is likely the fastest-growing religion in France – defying all stereotypes about one of Europe’s most secular nations. In 2011, The number of evangelical churches increased from 769 to 2,068 in 2011.[28]

In 2001, Swedish church authorities actively kept religious conservatives out of church leadership positions.[29] In 2001, Christianity reported: "With no more than 3 percent of Swedes seeing the Bible as the reliable Word of God, the vast majority of the politicians in church governing bodies want evangelicals out of power."[30] In 2007, it was reported that Sweden had a small, but growing evangelical Christian population.[31]

On July 12, 2012, the Christian Science Monitor reported:

French scholars say, evangelicalism is likely the fastest-growing religion in France – defying all stereotypes about Europe’s most secular nation...

Daniel Liechti, vice-president of the French National Evangelical Council, found that since 1970, a new evangelical church has opened in France every 10 days. The number of churches increased from 769 to 2,068 last year.[32]

Evangelical Christian immigration to Europe has not resulted in a rash of increased rapes

See also: Growth of evangelicalism in Europe

In Sweden and in France where evangelical Christianity is growing quickly, there are no reports of rapes increasing dramatically due to evangelical Christian immigration. Unlike the Koran/Islam which says you can beat your wife, biblical Christianity is very favorable to women (see also: Christian marriage and Atheist marriages and Irreligion and domestic violence and Atheism and women and Secular Europe and domestic violence).[33][34]
