Baku is the Capital City of Azerbaijan. It has experienced a great deal of change through the years, from being a silk road port city, to being controlled by soviets. It is home to UNESCO's World Heritage Sites "Palace of the Shirvanshahs" and the "Maiden Tower", among other longstanding constructions.[1]
