The Battle of Compton's Ferry was an action during the American Civil War that took place on August 11, 1862 along the Grand River in southwest Livingston County, Missouri.

A column of cavalry under Colonel Odon Guitar surprised a large number of Confederate recruits under Colonel John A. Poindexter. The battle itself was just a short encounter with little more than eight rounds fired in the air.
