The Battle of White Plains took place in New York, following Washington's retreat from New York City.
Aided by hessian soldiers, it was a victory for the British. The victory would be short lived, however, as British movements forced Washington out of New York and New Jersey, where he would cross the Delaware in a surprise attack. That was the Battle of Trenton.
