Bernie Sanders (born September 8, 1941) is 82 years old.

According to Politico, Bernie Sander's said about the issue of his age in relation to carrying out his presidendial duties if he is elected:

Sen. Bernie Sanders on Friday agreed with Joe Biden — a fellow septuagenarian — that age will be an issue if he runs for president in 2020.

But he added, “I’m very blessed with my health.”

“It’s part of a discussion, but it has to be part of an overall view of what somebody is and what somebody has accomplished,” Sanders, who is 77, told POLITICO. “Look, you’ve got people who are 50 years of age who are not well, right? You’ve got people who are 90 years of age who are going to work every day doing excellent work. And obviously, age is a factor. But it depends on the overall health and well being of the individual.”[1]

National Public Radio reported Bernie Sander's saying about his age:

"It is what you stand for," Sanders argued. "I think age is certainly something that people should look at. They should look at everything. Look at the totality of the person. Do you trust that person? Is that person honest? Do you agree with that person? What is the record of that person? But just say, you know, 'I'm gonna vote for somebody because they are 35 or 40, and I'm not going to vote for somebody in their 70s,' I think that's a pretty superficial answer."[2]
