Bill Engvall is best known for his family-friendly comedy on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, and the subsequant television show, Blue Collar TV. He has since gained fame with his critically acclaimed television show on TBS, The Bill Engvall Show.

Engvall's comedy has been said to be in the leagues of such comedy greats as Jim Belushi, Rex Havens, and to an extent, Bernie Mac. His television show focuses on family values and the difficulties of raising teenage children in such a corrupting world. For instance, one episode focused on the discovery of marijuana in Envall's son's dresser. The episode was designed to teach parents how to talk to their children in similar circumstances and open dialogue in a lighthearted manner.
