William "Bill" Posey is the United States Representative for the 8th congressional district of Florida. He is a member of the Republican Party. He was first elected to the House in 2008 to represent Florida's 15th district. Previously, Posey was a member of the Florida Senate (2001-2009) and the Florida House of Representatives (1993-2000).

On March 12, 2009, he introduced into U.S. House of representatives H.R. 1503, which would require presidential elects to submit original copies of their birth certificates along with supporting material. This would be done in order to prevent such issues as have arisen due to the possibility of Barack Obama being from somewhere other than Hawaii.

In May 2022, Posey turned to be establishment tool and vote for passing $40 billion to Ukraine war.[1]
