The black market includes transactions of illegal goods or services such as drugs, prostitution, selling stolen goods, or otherwise legal goods where the parties are trying to avoid taxation, such as smuggled cigarettes. Generally, an increase in regulations and/or a decrease in the rule of law leads to an increase in black market activity.
