Beckel was a co-host on The Five on Fox News before being fired in 2015 for his "personal issues" regarding substance abuse.[1] He later returned to the program in January 2017 after a brief stint on CNN. Beckel was fired later that year for allegedly making a racially charged comment against an African American Fox News staffer.[2] Beckel frequently appeared as a panelist on other Fox News shows and also co-hosted part of Fox's New Year's coverage.
