Robert “Bob” Good, born September 11, 1965 (age 59), is a former Liberty University employee and populist, anti-establishment Republican who successfully ran for United States House of Representatives from Virginia's 5th congressional district in the 2020 elections.
Bob Good opposed Donald Trump as the Republican nominee in the 2024 presidential election. Rep. Good also criticized conservative Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) for her motion to vacate the chair of Speaker Mike Johnson in spring 2024.[2]
With 96% of the ballots counted on June 19, 2024, Rep. Good trailed John McGuire in the Virginia primary.[3]
In 2020, Rep. Good was smeared by The Hill in August 2020 as a "far-right candidate".[4]
2020 U.S. House election in Virginia's 5th district
Republican convention
Good faced incumbent establishment-leaning Republican representative Denver Riggleman, who was elected in the 2018 Midterms with 53% of the vote.[5] This was after Riggleman had previously been censured by Virginia Republicans for "abandoning party principles",[6] pushed for the globalist-favored agenda of raising immigration levels,[7] and officiated a same-sex "wedding".[8] Endorsed by Sen. Ted Cruz,[9] Good won the convention in a surprise upset;[10] the overconfident Riggleman without clear evidence blamed his defeat on "voting irregularities and ballot stuffing", to which Good responded:

Riggleman was previously accused by his House predecessor Tom Garrett of threatening him for supporting Good.[12]
Some compared Riggleman's surprise defeat to the ousting of then-House Majority Leader Eric Cantor in the 2014 Midterms by Dave Brat;[13] both Good and Brat had won their respective primaries in major upsets despite being heavily outspent by their incumbent opponents.
After losing, Riggleman decided to contradict Donald Trump over QAnon, joining Democrat Tom Malinowski in introducing a resolution to condemn the anti-pedophilia group.[14]
General election
Good faced Democrat Cameron Webb in the general election, who won his party's primary with two-thirds of the votes cast.[15] Webb has justified calls to defund the police.[16]
Despite predictions of a tossup and possible flip towards the Democrats, Good won the general election in a victory for movement conservatives.[17]
Controversies
Good has been criticized for calling the coronavirus pandemic as a "phony pandemic" after Democrat blockades of access to hydroxychloroquine have led to countless deaths.[18] Lamestream media headlines have inaccurately portrayed him as supposedly denying the virus when he had said that it was a "serious virus", as Good largely differed with referring to the COVID-19 outbreak as a pandemic.
