According to [[:Category:Gun Writers|gun writer]] Matthew Boyd, brass is "the [[cartridge case]]. This is usually made out of brass, hence the name. The [[case]] holds the [[powder]] inside, a [[primer]] in its bottom, and a [[bullet]] in its [[mouth]].
