Budget Line

In some budget systems, a budget line is a one-line coded entry in the supporting schedule of the budget. Revenue lines are often contained in separate individual organization revenue budgets. Lines may refer to single or multiple positions, OTPS (a.k.a., NPE), and lump sums. Every line is assigned a numeric budget code.

A controversial issue in American politics is whether the president may constitutionally exercise a line-item veto as many state governors can do.
