Captain America: The First Avenger is a 2011 Superhero film based on the Captain America comics. It is the fifth film set in the "Marvel Cinematic Universe", which is produced independently by Marvel Studios, as well as the final film in the MCU to be released before the 2012 crossover film The Avengers. It is also the first film in the "Avengers universe" chronologically. This was the final MCU film to be distributed by Paramount Pictures before Marvel parent Disney takes over all further distribution, production and marketing of Marvel Comics-based films, starting with The Avengers.
