The Center for Constitutional Rights describe themselves as the premiere legal institution of the progressive movement. Their mission is "committed to the creative use of law as a positive force for social change." [1] The group was founded in 1966 by William Kunstler. They were largely overlooked until they allied themselves with the captives at Guantanamo Bay, most of whom are terrorists captured after illegally attacking American troops or innocent civilians.
