A Centrist is a person who holds political beliefs intermediate between Liberalism and Conservatism. As such, they may hold specific beliefs typical of both ideologies, depending upon their personal disposition.

Centrists favor selective governmental intervention and temporary affiliations with others. They take a strong stance on few issues, preferring the middle position in most matters. Centrists emphasize practical solutions to current public issues.

Christian democracy is a centrist political ideology.
