The Christian Party is a British Christian conservative political party. The party has its origins in the organisation Operation Christian Vote, which was formed in 2004. It is led by the Rev. George Hargreaves, a former popular music producer. The party is organised in Scotland as the Scottish Christian Party and in Wales as the Welsh Christian Party.
Electoral success
In the 2008 elections for the Greater London assembly, the Christian Party, in alliance with the Christian Peoples Alliance, came sixth of a field of sixteen parties, narrowly missing out on an assembly seat. It plans to run candidates for the European Parliament elections 2009, calling for a referendum on British membership of the European Union.
