Christmas Day is December 25 of each year. Although the actual date of the birth of Jesus Christ is not known, the date was chosen in antiquity by the Christian church for the celebration of the event.

It is an official holiday in nearly all countries in the Western world. For example, it is an observed Federal holiday, observed on December 25.[1]

Commonwealth

As a Christmas Day practice, Queen Elizabeth II gives a public word each year.[2]
