For the government term, see Christmas Tree (Government)
A Christmas tree is an evergreen tree adorned with ornaments and lights during the Christmas season.
The first mention of a Christmas tree was in 1605 at Strasbourg in Germany. It was later introduced into France, and then to England.[1]
The first decorated tree was at Riga in Latvia, in 1510. In the early 16th century, Martin Luther (1483-1546) is said to have decorated a small Christmas Tree with candles, to show his children how the stars twinkled through the dark night. [2]
