Congaree National Park is a national park near the town of Eastover, South Carolina, which contains the largest tract of bottomland hardwood forest in the United States. After lobbying by the Sierra Club, in 1976, Congress designated the land the Congaree Swamp National Monument. In 2003, it was redesignated the Congaree National Park.
