The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) is a 527 political group of Black Democrat members of Congress, who seek to be the "voice for people of color and vulnerable communities in Congress and has been committed to utilizing the full Constitutional power, statutory authority, and financial resources of the government of the United States of America to ensure that everyone in the United States has an opportunity to achieve the American Dream."
The group discriminates against Black conservatives and Republicans.
In 2021, CBC vice-chair Joyce Beatty was arrested for storming the U.S. Capitol with a mob of insurrectionists. A week later, George Rep.Hank Johnson led the mob in a takeover of the Senate Hart Office building. The following week Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee was arrested.
