Constipation is difficulty or inability to defecate. While occasional irregularity is commonplace, individuals with severe constipation should see a doctor. If there is no underlying illness, then having a diet with a healthy consumption of fruits, vegetables, or other things rich in fiber is better than taking laxatives. People with underlying illness need advice from doctors or nurses.
