Cori Bush (born July 21, 1976 (age 47)) (no relation to the Bush dynasty) is a nurse, pastor, and far-left Democrat running for United States House of Representatives from Missouri's 1st congressional district in the 2020 elections. A single mother who had been a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault,[1] and was formerly homeless, Bush apparently believes the notion that progressivism lifts poor people out of poverty and into prosperity when such has not been proven to be the case.

2020 U.S. House election in Missouri's 1st district
Bush announced in mid-2020 her run for the United States House of Representatives to challenge incumbent Lacy Clay, a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus who, according to the former, isn't left-wing enough.[2] She narrowly won the Democrat primary over Clay in a major upset,[3] and may become the fifth member of the Squad, as she is expected to easily win the general election in the highly liberal district.
Extremism
Bush is an anti-Israel activist who supports the radical BDS movement.[4]
