The Cosmac Elf was a 8-bit hobbiest microcomputer featured in Popular Electronics August and September 1976 issues. The article included instructions on building the "Elf" from components. A follow-up article appeared in the March 1978 issue. The system included a 2-digit hexadecimal LED display, 256 bytes of RAM, and an RCA CDP 1802 microprocessor, running at up to 2 MHz.[1]
