The Credo of the People of God is a profession of faith that Pope Paul VI published with the moto proprio document Solemni Hac Liturgia ("This Solemn Liturgy") of 30 June 1968, as a necessary development of the substance of the Nicene Creed in response to divergent opinions being proposed by some within the Catholic Church and the materialism and atheism of 20th century western culture in the United States, Europe, Canada, South America and Africa.
