A cricket ball is a ball used in cricket, made of a cork core and wrapped with a seamed leather covering. It is what the batsman must hit and make sure does not hit the wickets. In informal versions of cricket (such as backyard cricket and beach cricket) it is often replaced by a tennis ball especially due to the fact a cricket ball is extremely hard and can damage most objects easily.
