Dartmouth College is a university in Hanover, New Hampshire. It is a member of the Ivy League, the smallest of them in terms of enrollment.

Dartmouth College is a university, with medical, engineering, and business schools. It retains the name "College" as an important historical point of pride. It relates to the famous Dartmouth College Case of 1819, in which the State of New Hampshire attempted to take over Dartmouth and make it into a state university. The case was successfully argued before the Supreme Court by Daniel Webster, in which he made the famous remark:

"It is, Sir, as I have said, a small college. And yet there are those who love it."
