David Sarnoff (1891-1971) founded the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) and led the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) for many years. In his early years, he was a telegrapher, office boy, and later commercial manager for the American Marconi Company (the predecessor of the RCA).
He is also known for Sarnoff's law, which states that the value of a broadcast network is proportional to the number of viewers it has.
