A Death Panel, also known as "Death Council", is a government agency that makes life-or-death healthcare rationing decisions based on subjective criteria of an individual or demographic group's worth to society. While controlling cost can usually be the main factor, profit can also be used as an incentive.[1] For example, in the Covid relief bill of 2020, hospitals were rewarded with a $13,000 payment by the U.S. federal government for each reported covid death.[2]

Obamunism

Some critics, including 2008 Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin,[3] accused Obama of planning on allowing "Death Panels" to judge the wor thiness and "cost effectiveness" of keeping certain people alive, such as senior citizens. This "end-of-life" care is apparently to be doled out like pork from a salt barrel from the 200 or so "Elderly Care Centers" nationwide that will distribute strictly rationed medication to those in need until such time as the "committee" considers the patient to be too old. 200 centers in the country amounts to about 4 per state on average, though California, Massachusetts and Iowa were able to grab more funding from the Obama administration through a combination of political dealings and judicial activism.[4] The majority of Elderly Care Centers are located in urban areas of states; for example, the state of Kansas has only two Elderly Care Centers for their entire retired population and both are located in Topeka, far from the rural elderly who "need" government help the most. This may be a strategy to reduce the strain on the system by allowing a large portion of the elderly to die off "naturally," while still making a show of treating them in cities, where liberal voters tend to congregate.

There have already been deaths attributed to doctors exercising newly granted authority from these extrajudicial decision making bodies. A young girl, in liberal California of all places, was told that her liver transplant was not "worth it," because she wouldn't live long enough to justify the value of the organ. Though public outcry forced the doctors to change their minds after ten days, but those ten days were enough to kill an innocent child. Another woman, a nurse in Texas, was denied treatment for her breast cancer, purportedly because she was in middle age and was not worth the "investment." [5]

Under Obamacare, in every state taxpayer dollars originally slated for caring for the elderly in communities have been transferred to a "Community Health" slush fund run by federal government-appointed bureaucrats. The purpose of this fund is to allow unscrupulous doctors and insurance companies, who are the acknowledged source of our high health costs, to charge ridiculous amounts of money for basic services, without leaving a paper trail or even committing a (legal) crime.

In spite of public outcry over Death Panels, the Obama administration pressed forward to enact the same measures by bureaucratic regulations, called "end-of-life planning."[6] Quoting research from the British Medical Journal, the Obama administration insisted death panels are humane: "Advance care planning improves end-of-life care and patient and family satisfaction and reduces stress, anxiety and depression in surviving relatives." Prior to ObamaCare, uninsured indigent patients would be subject to rationing of care dictated by the limited amount of charity funding available at local hospitals. Insurance companies also rationed care by declining to authorize and reimburse procedures and treatments that they considered wasteful or experimental.

Euthanasia couched as "end of life planning"

The issue arose from the belief that, under Obamacare, doctors are required to discuss end-of-life options with elderly patients, perhaps encouraging them to end their lives. The claim, by Betsy McCaughey on a radio talk show in July, 2009, was that "Congress would make it mandatory ... That every five years, people in medicare have a required counseling session that will tell them how to end their life sooner, how to decline nutrition." What actually happened was that doctors would be compensated for giving advice, to patients that request it, about end-of-life planning.

End-of-life planning, such as "living wills" and "do not resuscitate" (DNR) directives, has been around for a long time. The issue is whether doctors are compensated for these discussions. A huge amount of the "red tape" that drives medical decisions revolves around what actions are compensated for by insurance. The practice of medicine is largely driven by these policies. Regrettably, the amount of such red tape has been increasing, both before Obamacare and since. There are policies governing what kinds of surgeries insurance will pay for, and how long a hospital stay will be compensated, and so on. Only by going to completely privately funded healthcare, free of any kind of insurance, can one completely get around this.

Pennsylvania

As the secretary of the Pennsylvania Health Department under the administration of totalitarian governor Tom Wolf during the CCP pandemic, Dr. Rachel Levine is directly responsible for thousands of deaths in nursing homes.[8][9] Levine ordered nursing homes that house healthy seniors to take in COVID-19 positive patients, which resulted in thousands of needless deaths.[10] By mid-May 2020, two-thirds of all coronavirus-related deaths in the state occurred in nursing homes.[11] A liberal hypocrite, Levine removed his own mother from a personal care home as the deaths rose dramatically.[11][12]

New York

A coffin outside a New York nursing home to protest Gov. Cuomo's decision to infect seniors with the coronavirus.[13]

Rather than construct quarantine gulags on the Chinese communist model, Cuomo mandated that longterm nursing home facilities accept Covid 19-positive patients. Despite the scientific evidence, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo issued the decree anyway.[14] The virus spread like wildfire among the elderly, mostly Babyboomers, giving New York the highest death toll from the CCP virus.[15] New York's death toll accounts for 30% of the U.S. fatality rate. Frontpage Mag reported:

Cuomo's Department of Health had issued an order that, "no resident shall be denied re-admission or admission to the NH solely based on a confirmed or suspected diagnosis of COVID-19" and also prohibited requiring testing of returning patients. Sending hospitalized patients with coronavirus to the same mismanaged nursing homes was a death sentence for countless seniors in those facilities.[16]

The Cuomo administration then deliberately tried to coverup the extent of the carnage by undercounting deaths.[17]

Hospital and nursing lobbies and committees donated as much as $2.3 million in campaign cash to Cuomo and co. in the 18-months before the coronavirus catastrophe and was a major support to him in a narrowly won re-election. And for all that, Cuomo personally removed the one deterrent that would have forced nursing homes and hospitals to actually care for their patients and incentivize them to prevent to spread of the China virus – accountability.[18]

Cuomo's order sent 6,400 COVID-19 positive patients into nursing homes - the highest risk group.[19] The deadly virus spread like wildfire among the most vulnerable group. More han 13,000 victims died.[20]
