Islam developed out of Judaism, just as Christianity did. Muslims regards Muslims, Christians, and Jews all as "people of the book," and considers Jesus to be one of Islam's prophets. Islam and Christianity are much closer to each other than either of them is to, say, Hinduism. Dpbsmith 11:19, 21 April 2007 (EDT)
- Are you sure? I know God said Abraham's son Ismail will have great people as his descendents. I know that Jesus and Mary are prophets of Islam, although not the God Man. Jews and Christians may be 'people of the Book' but I think their teachings suggest if they are not believers in Mohammed, conversion slavery or death is the answer. Many similarities I agree, Adam Eve, Abraham. Is Mohammed divine? I don't believe it. Then if not divine, a false prophet?--jp 11:30, 21 April 2007 (EDT)
