Debbie Jessika Mucarsel-Powell (born January 18, 1971 (age 52)) is the Democrat representative from Florida's 26th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. She was elected to the office on November 6, 2018, is currently a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, and a co-sponsor of the far-left Green New Deal.[2]

2018 election
Mucarsel-Powell was elected to the United States House of Representatives in the 2018 Midterms, defeating moderate RINO Carlos Curbelo by less than 2% of the votes cast[3] after the latter pushed for liberal legislation,[4][5] opposing Donald Trump to the point of mentioning impeachment,[6] and refused support from the president. As Trump said following the defeat of many House Republicans then:[7]

Tenure
Mucarsel-Powell backed and voted for the impeachment coup against Donald Trump, claiming that Trump "presents a clear and present danger to our democracy"[8] amidst calls then to investigate Hunter Biden over corrupt Burisma ties. It had been reported as early as July 2018[9] that Mucarsel-Powell's husband Robert took $700,000 from a Ukrainian oligarch accused of ordering contract killings.[10][11][12] In early August 2020, the Federal Bureau of Investigation escalated an investigation into the oligarch.[13]
Rep. Mucarsel-Powell has been the subject of scrutiny and criticism over a potential conflict of interest after favoring a COVID-19 relief package that benefited her husband.[14]
Mucarsel-Powell has spread CCP propaganda amidst the coronavirus pandemic.[15]
She has praised violent rioters amidst the 2020 Leftwing riots.[16]
2020 election
Mucarsel-Powell was defeated for re-election in 2020 by Carlos Giménez.[17] Afterwards in a House Democrat conference call, she was reported to have cried and complained over people mispronouncing her name and being "negative" on Twitter.[18]
