Dogma is a belief or doctrine that is held to be correct and above dispute. Originally applied to views held by religions, it is also applied to political ideology and scientific ideas.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is considered to be a dogma within Christianity whereas the right to free speech might be considered a dogma within Democracies.
