Donald P. Bellisario (born August 8, 1935) is a former Marine (serving from 1955 to 1959 and continuing as a reservist until 1963) who has been the creator (with producer and screenwriter credits) of such popular television shows as the original Battlestar Galactica, Magnum P.I., Airwolf, Quantum Leap, JAG, and NCIS. He has been a Republican for most of his life but in the 1970s, he became an Independent.[1]
